Project #66

Project #66

Before

A corner Semi-Detached house built in 1920s in the Beaches area of Toronto, Ontario. Although it was renovated several time over the past decades of its life time, the closed concept design was still very dominant and you could see old fashioned colour pallets in every room and corner of the house which didn’t meet the modern family life style needs.

After

The house was flooded with sun light as the wall came down ! Mix Cambria counter-top with Cabico cabinets and then add some expensive brand new appliances sitting on Engineered Hardwood floor and you will have such a gorgeous kitchen ! For the bathroom we managed to add shelves and pullouts under the vanity, and cabinets over the toilet seat. New paint on the walls, Gas Fire Place, New Furnace plus a Nest Smart Home Technologies including programmable thermostat, CO&CO2 detectors, security cameras and smart door lock that can all be also controlled by your cellphone are among other improvements we added to this property.

Process

The biggest challenge was removing the wall separating the kitchen from the living room, since it was partly load bearing and needed to be reinforced with a beam and also we had to come up with a kitchen design that would blend in with the rest of the house.
